Online health communities and the ecology of platforms that now surround patients are an important and developing force in shaping healthcare. In 2015 Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity together with the Health Foundation commissioned Paul Hodgkin and myself to review the barriers facing and opportunities offered by online health communities.
