Throughout 2013 and up until August 2014 I devised and then led the delivery of the Artha Venture Challenge, an investment competition for social ventures in India. Funded by Rianta Capital, a London based family office, AVC’s aimed to catalyse social investment into key sectors across India by fostering collaboration across investors and in so doing improve investment terms for social ventures.  In year one we invested almost USD $500,000 into nine organisations, and with this leveraged an additional circa USD $2 million of investment. I handed the second year of AVC over to the India based social investment pioneers Villgro in September 2014.
